Biological reclaim uses captive microbe colonies to clean dirty carwash water by converting chemicals, oils, soaps and organic items into carbon dioxide which is exhausted into the atmosphere, leaving the carwash water cleaner and odor free. Hydrocyclones are used to remove particles to an average of 5 microns. Reclaim water, which is generally free of carwash chemicals can be used for all carwash processes except final rinse, RO feedstock and chemical mixing bins. Reclaimed water may also be used for landscaping, lot or building wash downs.

This biological system is used around the world and has a 15 year history of successful operation in car and truck washes. This is the system generally chosen when there is no sewer or means of regular discharge. While this system is sensitive to water temperature, type of chemicals used, poisons, biocides, pesticides and must operate 24/7, long term, it can be the most economical type of water reclaim system to operate because of low power usage.
